Specifically, lightweight wood pallets typically weigh between thirty and seventy pounds; whereas plastic pallets are as light as just twelve pounds. This makes them much easier for workers to handle. On top of being easier to handle, plastic pallets are safer than wooden pallets. Plastic pallets eliminate handlers’ exposure to splinters, nails, and broken pieces of wood. They’re also the most sanitary and environmentally friendly option for pallets. Plastic pallets are made entirely from recycled plastic resins that are non-absorbent, and be steam cleaned. After they’ve been heavily used, all plastic pallets can be repurposed or recycled.
